> How to get there
4ArTS location has changed due to the unexpected number of participants that could not have been accommodated in our previous arrangements. The organisation "Klimaka" (www.klimaka.org.gr) who was providing us with the previous premises remains a supporter of our conference.
All lectures and workshops will now take place in "Argyri-Laimou" school (1 Geraka ave., Gerakas, Attiki). Gerakas is a suburb of Athens about 1 hour away from the centre of Athens. We would like to thank "Argyri-Laimou" school for kindly providing us with their premises.

There will be a coach connection from the accommodation and from Ethniki Amyna tube station to the school every morning and vice versa every evening. All participants can use the coach cost-free. A 4ArTS poster will be displayed on the coach.
In case you miss the coach, you can take the tube to Doukissis Plakentias station and from there take a taxi to the school (5-10 minutes away).

The opening session on Thursday (03/09) will take place at Bios bar in the city centre from 16:30- 19:00. After 19:00 we can stay at the bar for drinks. The Bios cultural centre is located at 84 Peiraios Street, in Kerameikos. Heading toward Piraeus, it is two blocks before the intersection of Peiraios Street and Iera Odos. There is limited on-street parking.
By metro
Keramikos / Votanikos
Station (Line 3)
Alight (exit: Technopolis) and follow Voutadon Street until you get to
Peiraios Street (at the level of Technopolis/Gazi). Turn left and follow
Peiraios Street in the direction of Omonoia until the Salaminos Street
intersection.
By ISAP (Athens-Piraeus Electric railway)
Thissio Station: Alight and follow Ermou Street until you get to Peiraios
Street (at the level of Technopolis/Gazi). Turn right and follow Peiraios
Street in the directon of Omonia until you get to the Salaminos Street
intersection and cross to the other side of Peiraios Street.
A group of students will be leaving at 15:00 from Chromatistes Meres (accommodation) to go to Bios bar. If you arrive before 15:00 you can go to the accommodation or otherwise come straight to Bios bar (metro from the airport to Kerameikos station, Line 3). Chromatistes Meres will be closed until 23:30 when we return.
The party on Sunday will take place at Riviera Cafe Beach Bar and is located at 34 Eikostis pemptis Martiou street at Artemida (or Loutsa). There will be buses from the school to take us to the beach bar and return us to the accommodation at night or to a central point.
> Accommodation
For 4 nights, from Thursday noon at 12:00 to Monday noon at 12:00 (3-7 September) students can stay at “Chromatistes Meres” building (28 Kifisias street, Neo Irakleio). There are 2WC, 1shower, a small kitchen for tea&coffee and two spacious rooms that can host 35-40 students. Sleeping bags or linen are not provided but there are comfortable mats. Please bring your own sleeping bag!

Nearest stations : Irakleio, Line 1, green (10 minutes walk) / Neratziotissa, Suburban rail (20 minutes walk).
To get to the school: take the overground train at Irakleio for 2 stops, change at Neratziotissa and take the Suburban rail. Get off after 3 stops at Doukissis Plakentias. Alternatively you can walk to Neratziotissa station and take the rail to Doukissis Plakentias. There will be coach connection (at no extra charge for participants) from Doukissis Plakentias station to Argyri-Laimou school (5 minutes distance).

Ippokampos restaurant Lunch is provided for the 3 days of the conference at Ippokampos restaurant (35 Thessalonikis street, Gerakas). We will be walking from the school to the restaurant (5 minutes walk). Please note your lunch preference in the application form. |
